The AAUW Collection consists of records of the organization housed in 10 boxes of folders, scrapbooks and ephemera arranged by 7 series pertaining to the administration and programs of the organization. There are 16 scrapbooks and loose posters housed in 5 oversized boxes. The records include scrapbooks, photographs, printed material, account books listing members, dues, accounts for various funds, records of expenses, yearbooks, newsletters, and loose newspaper clippings.

Biographical / Historical
The AAUW is a nationwide organization of women graduates of regionally accredited United States colleges and universities or foreign institutions recognized by the International Federation of University Women.
The AAUW had its beginnings in Boston in 1882 as the Association of Collegiate Alumni. In 1921 this organization and the Southern Association of College Women merged to form the American Association of University Women.
The history of the Columbus, Georgia branch dates back to 1932 when it was organized with twelve members.
