Biographical / Historical

According to information published in the program of its first meeting, the Coweta Falls Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) was chartered on the 23rd of October, 1976. Before the granting of the charter there had been several months of discussion among interested men at both Fort Benning and the Bradley Library. In January of 1976 temporary officers were named pending the formal establishment of the chapter. In May of that year a Letter of Intent was presented at the annual meeting of the Georgia SAR in Atlanta. This led to the charter being granted at the first official meeting of the Coweta Falls Chapter, held on October 23, 1976.
