The Roy L. Culliver Family Scrapbooks
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of three scrapbooks, 2 green, 1 black. The two green ones are very annotated, describing the family members and photos, trips the family took and children’s activities. The Columbus High School photographs of bands, choirs and programs are especially interesting. There is a unique photo of the Muscogee County Elementary Band, no date. All the students are dressed in white clothing, a hat, with a cloak around their shoulders.

Biographical / Historical
The Roy L. Culliver family lived in Columbus, Georgia. Roy Culliver was born 16 Aug 1903 and died 15 Nov 1998 and is buried in Parkhill Cemetery. He was employed by the National Life and Accident Insurance Co. His first wife, Ottis Poyner Culliver, lived from 1906 to 1950. His second wife, Naomi Hammock Culliver, lived from 1906-1985. The family attended St. Luke Methodist Church and lived at 3309 Clubview Dr. for many years. A son, George, born in 1942, went to Columbus High School and was very active in the blue Devil Band and concert Choir. He graduated in 1959.
One of the scrapbooks seems to belong to Ruby Mae Culliver Quinn, wife of James Leonard Quinn, a Columbus fireman. This scrapbook, unlike the other two, is not labeled.
