Biographical / Historical

Blanche Strong was born September 2, 1908 and died January 20, 2000. She married B. Ralph Hobbs. She was extremely active in the Parent-Teacher Association, serving in local positions at the Cataula, Georgia chapter as well as in state and national positions as well. In addition to the PTA, she was active in the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs, the Red Cross, American Cancer society and Regent of the George Walton DAR Chapter in the 1940s. She also served on the Public Relations Committee of the Georgia Education Association and was the first woman to have been president of the Young Harris alumni association.
