Biographical / Historical

The Baseball Association was officially organized on November 6, 1908, in Columbus, Georgia. The charter was granted by Judge Gilbert of the superior court with the following officers: Harry L. Williams, president; Frank H. Springer, vice-president; J.E.P. Stevens, secretary, and treasurer. The initial capital stock sought for the team was $10,000 with the privilege of increasing to $25,000. Shares would be $100 each.
