527. Letter dated February 9, 1862,Camp Pickens, Manassas, Virginia, addresses Dear Sister, signed Sergt. D. Greene. (4 pages)
528. Letter dated February 18, 1862,Camp Pickens, Manassas, Virginia, addressed Dear Sister, signed Sergt. D. Greene, Company K, 27th Georgia Regiment, Col. L. B. Smith, Commander, Manassas, Virginia. He mentions the defeat at Fort Henry in Tennessee and Roanoke Island in North Carolina. He tells that it is rumored General Pillow has surrendered Fort Danelson to the Yankees. ( 3 pages)
529. Letter dated March 23, 1862, Camp near Rapidan, Virginia, addressed Dear Mattie, signed your affectionate brother, D. Greene. He tells that they marched from Camp Pickens to the new camp. General Johnston has evacuated Centersville, Manassas and several other places on the Potomac and has fallen [back] to the Rapidan River. He tells that they have a large army, 80 or 90 thousand man. 530. Letter dated May 18, 1862, camp near Richmond, addressed Dear Sister, signed David Greene. He mentions the fight at Williamsburg on the fifth of the month in which a great many lives were lost. They are camped within three miles of Richmondand the Yankees are right after them. (3 pages)
531. Letter dated June 25, 1870, Talbot City, Georgia, addressed My Dear Aunt Mattie, signed Mattie A. Mathews, added P. S. by Savannah I. Mathews. (2 pages)
